Desi ghee is clarified butter. The process of making desi ghee organic preservative-free ghee at home is very easy
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 Cup leftoverghee ( ( residue after making ghee) )
- ½ Cup Sugar ( (to taste))
- ½ tsp. cardamompowder/Illaichi powder ((Optional))
- ½ tsp. Ghee ( (for greasing))
- Almonds ( for garnishing)
Recipe Steps
- Take a pan add one cup milk, let it boil on low flame add one cup milk solids, mix nicely
- Add sugar to it, melt it and cook it for 5 min to medium flame
- Add cardamom powder mix it well, cook until mixture comes together or thick consistency.
- Switch off the flame when it leaves the pan, grease a plate with ghee
- Now pour this batter into the greased plate, square in shape, and spread evenly.
- Leave it for 2 hours to set over a greased plate or in the fridge to set for 15-20 minutes
- After 15 minutes, take it out and cut it into a square/rectangle shape. Garnish with Almonds
- Enjoy the yummy milk cake, rich and completely homemade
Useful Tips And Tricks
- You may add desiccated coconut to this recipe
- In the summers season, you may need to keep it in the fridge to store as it has ghee in it
- Use Almond or your choice of dry nuts for garnishing
- Do adjust the sweetness as per the requirements.
- You may mix this brownish color milk solid/ghee leftovers with wheat flour and make panjiri
