Simple Veg Noodles Recipe at Home | Street Style Chow mein | Indian Style Veg Chowmein| वेज चाऊमीन

Ingredients

  • 2 packs noodles
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or according to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper or according to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 2 to 3 tablespoon oil
  • 1 to 3 green chilly
  • 1 small sliced onion or 3 tbsp  spring onion
  • 1/2 cup cabbage
  • 1/2 cup carrot
  • 1/2 cup capsicum
  • 1/4 cup chopped paneer (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chilly sauce (optional)

Method Recipe Steps to make Veg Noodles at Home

Boiling Noodles

  1. Bring 5 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Add the noodles and cook them. Don’t overcook as they turn mushy
  3. Follow the instructions on the pack for the cooking time.
  4. When the noodles are cooked, drain them and rinse with cold water.
  5. Drain in a colander and sprinkle 1tablespoon oil to keep them non-sticky.

Making Veg Noodles

  1. Heat a pan with oil and regulate the flame to medium-high.
  2. Add garlic and green chilies. Stir fry for 30 seconds and add onions.
  3. Fry them for a minute and add all the veggies.
  4. Toss them and stir fry on high flame until they are half done and yet crunchy.
  5. Add cooked noodles, salt, and black pepper. Pour the vinegar, soya sauce, and chili sauce.
  6. Toss and stir fry chowmein for 2 minutes, tossing continuously till everything get mix nicely.
  7. Serve Veg Noodles hot.

Useful Tips And Tricks

  1. Always bring water to a rolling boil before adding noodles to the water.
  2. The high flame is the main factor that lends a smoky aroma to Chinese dishes.
  3. Soya sauce is the key ingredient to make veg noodles to get an umami taste.
