Peanut Chikki Recipe at home | Peanut Jaggery Bar At Home | Easy Groundnut Chikki Recipe|मूंगफली गुड़ की चिक्की

Chikkis are very popular specially made during the winter season. It is the most preferred winter special sweet. It is one of the simplest chikki recipes with just two main ingredients. Easy Peanut Chikki is the ideal combination for winters that can be easily prepared at home. Not only it is delicious, but also a flavorful combination that helps treat hemoglobin deficiency and protects against anemia. Antioxidants in peanuts also help purify the blood.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Peanuts or Moongphali
  •  cup Jaggery
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • tsp. ghee for greasing

Recipe Steps

Roasting the Peanuts
  1. Heat a thick-bottomed heavy pan on medium-low heat. Add 1 cup of peanuts to it.
  2. Roast the peanuts stirring intermittently till they become crunchy.
  3.   Once they are roasted well, you can see the change in color and few peanuts get de-skinned during this roasting process.
  4.  Switch off the flame, then remove them in a separate plate.
  5. Let them cool down completely, peel off the skin of the peanuts and keep aside.
To Make Groundnut Chikki Recipe
  1. In the same pan, add jaggery on medium-low heat along with water.
  2. With a spatula or spoon, stir continuously so that all the jaggery gets dissolved turns glossy, and thickens.
  3. While the jaggery syrup is cooking, grease the plate with ghee and keep it aside. Once you have the right jaggery syrup consistency or at the hardball stage (To check consistency, drop a small drop of dissolved jaggery in a bowl filled with water. If the jaggery  drop turns into the solid drop and sits at the bottom of the bowl, then it has been done.)
  4. Immediately add the peanuts and give a quick stir and mix very well. This step should be done immediately before the mixture hardens.
  5. Switch off the flame and quickly pour the chikki mixture into the greased plate or tray.
  6. Immediately place a foil or butter paper on the chikki.
  7. Spread and even out the chikki layer With the help of a rolling pin.
  8. Next, remove the paper and then with a knife cut it into squares while it is hot.
  9. Let the peanut chikki cool at room temperature, Once cooled, break the squares
  10. Winter special peanut chikki is ready.

Useful Tips And Tricks

  • Be careful cooking jaggery. If it’s not cooked till the hardball stage, the chikki is going to be chewy and stick within the teeth.
  • If the jaggery is overcooked, the peanut chikki will become too hard
  • Spread and even out the chikki layer With the help of a rolling pin when it is hot. Once it cools down, it will be difficult to roll it out.
  • You can store the chikki in an airtight jar at room temperature.
